After a group of Florida officers were killed in the line of duty, President Donald Trump presented their family members with awards on their behalf at the White House, per Newsweek. However, one of the fallen officer’s daughters, Alexandria Diaz, appeared to be less than thrilled to receive the medal from Trump, even if it was in honor of her late father.
A video of Trump handing a stone-faced Diaz the medal has gone viral, with many quick to assume that Diaz is not a fan of the president. In the video, Diaz accepts the award for her father, but she doesn’t crack a smile and she barely looks at Trump. Later, after the video made the rounds on TikTok, Diaz actually showed up in the comments to share her side of things.
A police officer’s daughter was not pleased to accept an award from Trump.

On May 19, 2025, Trump awarded the Medals of Sacrifice to the families of three officers who were killed while on duty. Diaz accepted the medal on her late father’s behalf and for her family. In footage that has made the rounds on social media, however, she isn’t too thrilled to be receiving the award from Trump and being face to face with the president.
Or, to be more exact, being side by side with him. In the video, Diaz almost refuses to meet his eyes and responds in what looks like single words to whatever Trump says to her in the background. Unfortunately, you can’t hear what Trump privately says to the young woman, but on TikTok, commenters have plenty of ideas about how Diaz felt about the whole interaction.
After someone shared the video on TikTok and wrote on the screen “she is all of us” with two crying laughing emojis in the caption, others took to the comment section, as one does, to share their reactions to Diaz’s reaction.
One person commented, “Her body language spoke so LOUD. we got the message girl.”
“I’m cracking up!!!” Another user commented on the video that was shared. “He look irritated she won’t smile lol.”
Someone else who commented on the entire situation and not just Diaz’s reaction to Trump, wrote, “The convicted criminal giving out law enforcement awards.. we’re in the upside down folks.”
“For a narcissist, he expected her to fall all over him. That’s where he gets his high,” one person observed. “She gave him NOTHING. So he couldn’t get his fix. Notice how he’s a lot less boisterous.”

Under the same video, Diaz commented on it herself. She wrote, “That is me. not a cop, nor a republican. the medal i received was on behalf of my dad who died [in the] line of duty last year. and the general gist of this comment section is correct.” She then stitched the video on her own account and shared her thoughts in a video of her own.
“So this is actually my worst nightmare, to go viral, become a meme, whatever,” Diaz says in her TikTok video. “I literally just landed back home and I got a text from my friend that was like, ‘you’re going viral.’ I was like, ‘God no.’ To cover some points, [I’m] not a cop, not a Republican.”
And now, to some, she is basically a hero herself for being unafraid to not play nice in the presence of the president.
