Friends, we can't lie. Life has been getting us down lately. And just when we thought we couldn't take it anymore, a mailman put a smile on our faces, and we couldn't stop! The United States Postal Worker from Simsbury, Connecticut, affectionately known in the community as "Mailman Mike," put together a birthday surprise for a 2-year-old boy that was just amazing.
Little Colby is a huge fan of mail trucks. His mom, 36-year-old Jessica Bergman, told Today that her son has developed a bit of an obsession throughout the last six months, and Mailman Mike planned a big surprise for his birthday. Just shy of turning 2, Colby was treated to a personal parade of all kinds of trucks and service vehicles with Mailman Mike as the grand marshal. Because she is a gem, Jessica posted it on TikTok for the world to enjoy, and we are obsessed.

Colby and Mailman Mike are pretty good buds.
Colby's mom explained to Today that when planning Colby's party, she wanted to include Mailman Mike. She asked him if he could drive by on the day of the party just to give a hello and a wave as a birthday gift.
Mailman Mike delivered in a huge way. Jessica said that when they went outside on the party day to wave to Mailman Mike, it was "beyond anything I could have ever imagined."
The whole town turned out for the party.

The delightful TikTok has 4.7 million views, and followers can't get enough of cute Colby. Mailman Mike pulls up, followed by a firetruck flashing its lights, trash trucks honking, and of course, other mail carriers tooting and waving. One of the postal workers is even filming Colby and his family as he drives by. And we don't know why, but that totally has us crying. We love these guys!
The parade wasn't the end of the party.
Mailman Mike returned, opened the back of his truck, and brought a custom mail truck for Colby to drive. Then an officer came over with a dog for Colby to meet, and Mailman Mike finished the day with an incredible honor for Colby. He is now an "Honorary Letter Carrier." Mailman Mike, we have all the feels.
And guess what? So does TikTok.
We aren't the only crazy moms crying over Mailman Mike. The comment section couldn't get enough of the modern-day Mr. McFeely.
"Mailman Mike pulled ALL the strings," a comment reads.
"Imagine how much better this world would be if everybody treated each other this way," another person wrote.
A fellow mail carrier-enthusiast wrote: "I grew up with a mailman Mike and I'm sobbing. It's fine."

Mailman Mike is an inspiration.
Be kind. We hear it all the darn time, and it rings so true. Mailman Mike could have just waved for Colby, and that would've been enough, but he took it a million steps further. He got together a whole group of people who understand kindness and made millions smile together. We think that is pretty great.
Jessica agreed and shared her love in a Facebook post.
"I am blown away. Colby is obsessed with mail trucks and our mail carrier, Mailman Mike. For his birthday, the Simsbury United States Postal Service organized a truck parade in front of our house. So many workers turned up to help us celebrate. They even made him his own Mail Truck and an honorary mail carrier. Thank you to Mailman Mike, Mr. Ken from the Simsbury Fire Department, Mr. Mike from Paine's, and Postmaster Lisa. My dad always said if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. Thank you for everything you do for residents of the Town Of Simsbury," she wrote.
Friends, take notes. We sure did. Happy birthday, Colby! May this be the first of many big dreams to come true. And Mailman Mike, thanks for restoring our faith. We needed it.
