Mom Left 3 Toddlers Alone To Get Milk — When She Looked Back Her Truck Was Gone & So Were They

One Michigan mom had to endure any parent’s worst nightmare: her kids went missing. Ebony Foley thought it would be fine to run into the store by herself quickly. With toddlers, it probably felt easier to not have to drag them out of the car. But she will not make that assumption ever again.

While the mom was in the store, her truck was stolen while her kids were still in the car. Police worked quickly to reunite the mom with her kids, calling in help from neighboring counties. Eventually, the children were found.

Around 11 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, Foley ran into a gas station in Wayne, Michigan, to buy milk. She left her three kids: a 3-year-old boy and 18-month-old twin boys, in her truck. But when she looked outside to check on them, she saw that the truck, and her boys were gone.

“I almost didn’t believe it,” Foley told WXYZ. “Like, ‘Hold on, did I park somewhere else?’ Because it didn’t feel real.” Immediately, Foley called 911. “As soon as everything got dispatched, all of a sudden, all you hear is a bunch of sirens, for probably a mile down,” she explained.

Wayne police immediately responded. Police from neighboring Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Inkster counties, also quickly responded. Within minutes, police found Foley’s car, but her boys weren’t inside. According to investigators, police in Inkster got a 911 call after someone heard crying in an abandoned lot and discovered the boys.

“If you have the audacity to drop some babies on the side of the road, what else you have the audacity to do?” Foley said to Fox 2 Detroit. “They’re babies still,” she said. “Anything could have happened with them sitting on the side of the road if nobody heard them.”

Thankfully, none of the boys were hurt. Apparently, Foley’s 3-year-old, Markos, was asleep the whole time. They were quickly reunited with their parents. Upon reuniting with her babies, Foley said “I don’t know how to explain it, I felt faint.”

Foley admitted that she has learned an extremely important lesson the hard way. She will never leave her kids alone again. “They ain’t goin’ nowhere,” she said.

The 25-year-old man who allegedly stole Foley’s car was arrested. He is currently awaiting charges.
